Apple China Sales; China Mobile Deal Opens Up Market For iPhone Sales; 813M Wireless Subscribers Do Not Have Smart Phones

With the recent outing of the iPhone 5s, and the iPhone 5c catered for the Chinese market, a deal with China Mobile is likely to yield strong earnings for the Cupertino, California based- Smartphone maker.

The iPhone has a ubiquitous quality that has already satisfied the curiosity of 42% of Smartphone owners in the U.S. Of course, the iPhone 5c is a cheaper phone with a price tag of about $100 and is not available in the U.S. Apple has gone with the strategy of pulling out its iPhone 5 and replacing the flagship phone with the new iPhone 5s.

Pretty much, that would mean the older phones are not available any more. But, Apple Inc. is not bothered. According to analyst estimates, the iPhone maker sold 55.3 million phones and that's a lot at a time when the cell phone and the smart phone markets are saturated with Blackberries, high-end Nokia phones like the Lumia, Windows 7 phones and of course the Samsung's powered by Android.

With a China Mobile deal in the bag, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) gets to tap into a new market, which does not have many wireless users with smart phones. With so many clones in Asia, there may be little incentive to go for the real thing. This part of the world is engaged in thrift because inflation and food prices are still high in China and the cost of living is high. According to Motley Fool, not even 50% of China are using smart phones. So, the potential for smartphones like the iPhone 5c is self-evident.

But 3G subscribers are booming and China is the next wave of Smartphone technology, when carriers make it more affordable.

With more than half of its revenues from the iPhone, Apple will take advantage of this scenario by creating iPhones for nearly 813 million Chinese, in other words 66% of wireless subscribers. Sounds like a fantastic opportunity and then of course there's other parts of Asia such as India, where Apple is using the strategy to sell its old models for a lower price.
