News analysis confirmed that Apple sales were higher than those of Samsung during the holidays, but clearly Samsung tipped the winning streak after it unveiled a slew of phones and sold existing models like nobody else in 2013.
Against this backdrop, the Samsung S5 release date will also bring the Korean flagship phone head to head with the touted iPhone 5S, which takes after the classic iPhone 5 - so much so that Apple has suspended release of this model, which some would like to buy.

Rumors of a fingerprint sensor predict it will be on the Samsung S5. Reputed Chinese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo feels that the Samsung 5S release will also be competing with the HTC One Max. He also felt that Samsung is likely to go with a slower 32-bit hardware from Qualcomm or Exynos, rather than high speed 62- bit version that Apple houses, reports CNET.
There is also talk of two models in the Samsung S5 release - Standard & Prime - just as the two plastic cased iPhone model releases in late 2013, added Itechpost.
AppleInsider reported that the 'Prime' would carry the 32-bit octa-core Exynos 5430 processor as opposed to the 'Standard' which would be outfitted with the 32-bit quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon.
Samsung's S5 release date will be the same for the second model of the Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch, taking a curved design and more style tips than the original version. Some users see the Samsung Smartwatch as an accessory, while others will try it out with previously released Samsung handsets, said Gottabemobile.
