Everyone, you'll probably get this by now seeing that you have kids at home, and probably doing a 'Frozen' sing-along in your living room. Don't just stop there; sing with the rest inside a movie theater, as Elsa and Anna are back along with their friends in the big screen in a Sing-Along version of the world-wide Disney hit 'Frozen'.
More than 2,000 theaters nationwide are set to showcase the all-new sing-along version of Disney's Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning animated film, beginning Friday, Jan. 31, 2014. Here is a teaser of things to come a video of one of the films popular song "Let It Go" with sing-along lyrics being shown.
"It's hard to pinpoint, because there's not a lot of history to track on sing-along versions of animated movies going into their 11th week," Disney's head of distribution Dave Hollis told TheWrap Wednesday. "But we're excited."
"I think it's crossed over from being a hit movie into something of a cultural phenomenon," Hollis said.
It's undeniable; "Frozen" has taken more than $810 million globally since opening at Thanksgiving. How many people turn out to warble along with the Oscar Best Original Song nominee "Let It Go" and the other tunes from the film.
It's clear plenty of people are already humming along. The latest Billboard 200 chart shows the the films soundtrack after selling 93,000 copies in the week ending Jan. 26.
"The response we're seeing to the soundtrack, online and to our supplemental media campaign has been really encouraging," he said.
Hollis did point out that moviegoers disinclined to pipe up with Anna and Elsa won't be left in the cold.
"Just about all of the theaters that are playing the sing-along version will play the original version of it, too," he said.
Movie goers are excited to "Let It Go" when the film hits the big screen this Friday.
