The recent "Fantastic Four" Reboot casting has made some fans of the comic book franchise a little angry because according to some reports Fox is open to changing the gender of the Fantastic Four super villain, Dr. Doom!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Dr. Doom is said to be the villain of the reboot (the character appeared in Fox's two previous movies and was played by Julian McMahon)... The studio is likely to go for a big name and isn't ruling out switching genders for the role."

Upon hearing this "Fantastic Four" reboot casting news, fans took to various online forums to talk about their feelings about this news and majority of them were negative.

One user took to Cinema Blend and posted this message "You know, if you want a female villain, why not just create your own new super hero universe. Oh, wait, who am I kidding, that would take some original thought -- something that has been in short supply in Hollywood for about 20 years."

User "Hiyamoto" posted on the same site "The question is why? I'm not asking about the context of the comic books, but the plot of the film. Why is Dr. Doom a woman? Is it so she can be redeemed by love at the end? Pass. Is it weird fan service like you'd find on DeviantArt? Pass. Is it to make a statement that women can be irredeemably evil and transcend objectification to become a true villain? ... I'm listening."

"OT74" posted "And we thought the first two fantastic four movies were bad.....why even make a fantastic four movie if you plan on changing the origin and backstory of every character. I had hopes for the reboot, but I should of known better, after all its still Fox. This is starting to sound like a huge joke.....or maybe thats wishful thinking."

Gabe Toro a writer at Cinema blend posted a reason to why a female Dr. Doom could work "On one hand, gender-blind casting is cool, and Dr. Doom, like all comic characters, is subject to a bit of experimentation. A lady Doom changes the dynamic. Has she always been close to Richards? Is there some romantic heat there? And while everyone is upset about the lack of bigscreen female heroes, there's an even greater dearth of evil bad girls, particularly ones not beholden to their sexuality. An evil cackling genius in a mask is something we've seen before. But as a lady? Sure, sounds dynamic and fresh."

Aside from the Dr. Doom gender change, The Hollywood Reporter also revealed some new "Fantastic Four" Reboot casting news by confirming that Michael B. Jordan is now the new "Human Torch".
