Google Glass price is still up in the air, but news sources say that the device that everyone wants to get their hands will cost half as much as the initial offering of $1500 for a select 8000 explorer group who wanted to try it out.

Analysts say that Google Glass could be a revolutionary tool in 2014, particularly after trade show fans got a chance to get a closer look at CES International in Las Vegas.

Of all the wearable devices outed so far this year, which includes the announcement of a wearable bracelet styled by L'Oreal and powered by Intel'chip and the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, the Glass has the most practical functionality.

Some of the the more technical wearable devices seem to be a platform for exhibiting tech style and discovery rather than providing useful functionality.

For example, the Google drive concept does not need a driver, but who would dare to travel in a car without a driver no matter how smart that technology is.

According to reports, a consumer release could come as early as mid 2014 now that Google Glass has outfitted prescription lens options on its original device. This makes it even more practical because the user is not wearing it just as Google Glass but as something he/she would use on a daily basis. Shades are an additional option that applies to outdoor wear and converges nicely with computer device worn on the head.

A Google Glass price will now have to take into account the impending release of the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2, announced for release with the long awaited Samsung Galaxy S5 on the opening day of the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona.

While the Google Glass and Google Glass price are in a category of its own, a nationwide and worldwide launch would have.to take into account the stiff competition from the smartwatches. the digital health devices and other wearable devices with robotic features.

News portals say that the Google Glass is taking its final form before launch. And if Google Glass does not launch this year at an affordable price, it will have a tough time competing with rival digital technologies. Most likely, by2015, there will be another Google Glass concept in the making and the current Google Glass price designation and the concept of having computer aided headgear obsolete.

Google said in a statement on Google Plus, "the company was not looking to build another tech gadget that was already invented, referring to the eyeglass improvisation that has made the Glass even more popular.

The Google Glass price for precription lens frames will cost an extra $250, while su.glasses in Active, and Classic designs will run you another $150.

Instead, the company branched out into some unfamiliar territory with this product.

The Mountainview, California based firm states, "We started Project Glass to build technology that's seamless, beautiful and empowering. To share the world through your eyes. To get answers and updates, instantly. To be there when you need it, and out of your way when you don't."

"We're inviting a small group of Explorers to help us discover the full potential of Glass. Follow us on our journey, and help us shape the future." adds Google.

The Google Glass webpage contains videos and photos to explain the product to consumers

A release date and a price announcement is likely once users get a feel for the concept and Google puts a fix on issues brought up by consumers after completion of the trial run.

Once the trial runs are complete and Google has a chance to address any issues that are presented from the users, we can likely expect a re
lease date to be announced.
