Channing Tatum just made a lot of people excited for Magic Mike 2 simply by posting on Instagram. The hunky actor just uploaded a picture of himself in a thinking pose, pen and paper on the ready. He was also wearing a writer's cap and staring at a bust of his Magic Mike costar Matthew McConaughey as Dallas in the first Magic Mike movie. The photo had the caption, "What better way to start writing #MagicMike2 than with my old friend Dallas? #runatribe."

It's the first time this year that Tatum has brought up the subject of the follow-up to the runaway blockbuster, Magic Mike, again. The star previously made the announcement back in 2012 that Magic Mike 2 would take some time. A lot of details are still up in the air, such as who the director will be (director Steven Soderbergh is not expected to direct the second movie), whether or not it will be a sequel or a prequel, and if Alex Pettyfer would be coming back to reprise his role as Tatum's sidekick, Adam.

Tatum's wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum, once told Movieline in an interview that her husband is considering directing the second movie, but nothing's set in stone. She said, "I think he definitely wants to direct in the future, and he definitely knows that world and how to capture that. But nothing is solidified, and I think he was just throwing it out there. But he'll be a fantastic director when he decides to do that."

Magic Mike was based on Tatum's actual past experience as a male stripper Tampa, Florida, back when he was only 18 years old. It grossed over $167 million worldwide when it came out in 2012. Now a couple of years later, he is definitely confirming that the second movie is still pushing through. The actor has started the writing process, and he's keeping the world posted.
