Flappy Bird 's withdrawal from the Internet has caused addicted gamers to express their opposition to the move and clones appear to be flooding the Web.

There's a huge demand for it with people ready to pay as much as $100k for an iPhone with the hit game installed. However, Google and Apple are now rejecting these clones since there are so many of them.

According to a report by Geek.com, it's only the newest versions that will be hit by the checks, and the games you really enjoy playing might still be on, if it's a Flappy bird version you've been playing for a while. The reason for Apple (APPL) rejecting the clones is because they "leverage a popular app," says Geek.com.

Google's answer to the clones is that Flappy Bird clones are 'spam' and creation of spam needs to end.

However, some gamers argue that a game can't be leveraged since Don Nguyen's version of the Flappy Bird is no longer in use. Although that might be good rationale, it is not enough to convince Google or Apple. Their app stores have numerous games that are similar to the Flappy Bird-type games to last a long long time. So don't expect Apple to bulge.

There's some ambiguity about categorizing what is a "Flappy Bird-like" game and what is not. This is not a clear question to answer since a game can be similar in many many ways. A catch-22 for developers.

Tech watchers and Flappy Bird enthusiasts say that it would be great if Mr. Dong Nguyen would reinstall and place the game back in app stores. Analysts wonder if Nguyen's verison would be screened. Another scenario would be if Mr. Nguyen were to release another version, sort of like version 2. Despite the fact the created the game, he does not have guarantee that his game would be chosen, due to clone spamming.
