Mariah Carey News 2014: The 2014 BET Honors aired last February 24 with unforgettable performance from Mariah Carey. The Pop Diva was a force to be figured with as well. She debuted her new single "You're Mine".

Yahoo Music reported that Carey sounded as if she was singing to a pre-recorded vocal track. Save for her revealing black gown, the pop star laid and kneeled atop of a baby grand piano as she offered her Valentine-themed song.

Mariah Carey's new single "You're Mine (Eternal)" isn't having the best of starts according to Direct Lyrics. In spite of having heavy promotion schedule Def Jam had line-up for the pop diva during the song's iTunes launch week, the Rodney Jerkins-produced romantic ballad is struggling; unable to rise on the Billboard Hot 100, and facing a huge embarrassment on iTunes Main Chart. Yesterday, Feb. 24, "You're Mine" was out of the Top 1000!

According to Atlanta Daily, the 2014 BET Honors was Hosted by Wayne Brady. The other honourees of the night included Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, Motown founder Berry Gordy (Tamar paid homage with a performance of "Upside Down" by Diana Ross), rapper-actor Ice Cube (Ludacris presented the award to fellow rapper-turned-actor), American Express chairman-CEO Ken Chenault and photographer and video artist Carrie Mae Weems and late former South African President Nelson Mandela all received tributes at the show.

According to Daily Mail, Others who performed at the show included Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monae, Tamar Braxton and Smokey Robinson. Artists Ludacris and Mack Wilds, Scandal actor Joe Morton and activist/talk host Rev. Al Sharpton were tapped as presenters.

Proceeds from BET Honors' limited ticket sales will benefit the Women Veterans Interactive, an organisation that provides housing options and support for veterans and their families.

BET Honors was recorded earlier this month, took place at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. Since 2008, the event has celebrated the achievements of African Americans in the arts, entertainment, business, athletics, public service and education. Last year's honorees included Halle Berry, T.D. Jakes, Chaka Khan, Lisa Leslie and Clarence Avant.
