Tony Stark fans have been dying to see Robert Downey Jr. again on the big screen, but are the Iron Man 4 rumors really true? The 48-year old actor recently signed a contract for the next two Avengers movie, but there's still no confirmation if he will return in the next franchise of Iron Man.
There are many factors as to why Downey may not be seen in the sequel of Iron Man. One is his age, second is his increasing talent fee, and third is his availability since his hands will already be tied working on two installments of the Avengers.
According to Classicalite, there is a chance that the famous character Tony Stark will be replaced by his biological nephew Arno Stark. There are actually two versions of Iron Man and in Volume 5 #12, Arno claims that he is the son of Howard Stark and Maria Stark. In the story, Arno was genetically modified while still in the womb, but Howard was able to create a serum that saved his life. Arno wasn't introduced to Tony because he was on life support.
Despite all the Iron Man 4 rumors, fans of the metal-clad superhero still keep their hopes us. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel president Kevin Feige said, "I believe there will be a fourth Iron Man film and a fifth and a sixth and a 10th and a 20th." He added, "I see no reason why Tony Stark can't be as evergreen as James Bond."
As of the release date, Ironman4.net confirmed that the new installment of the Iron Man will hit the theatres on May 6, 2016. The website also added, "The Iron Man 4 project has already been confirmed by key players in the Iron Man franchise, but it is even more exciting that the release date may now be official."
However, Feige denied the Iron Man 4 release date rumors. Frosty of Collider asked the director, "Do you foresee making Iron Man 4, or do you think that, like Hulk, that's what's gonna make Avengers special?
The Marvel president replied, "I've said it before and it wasn't negotiating tactics. I believe Tony Stark is as strong a character as Batman. So, there will absolutely be future Tony Starks and future Iron Mans. Who makes those movies, and when those movies are made, who knows? I don't know. Part of what we love about The Avengers is the shifting roster. That's what's fun about the comic book movies. You shift them up."
Do you think that Marvel will shift up the next installment of Iron Man by ditching the billionaire playboy hero?
