Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss, 31, who will reprise her role as Peggy Olson in the upcoming seventh season of the hit AMC series opened up to New York Magazine about her short lived marriage to Fred Armisen and her slow realization that Peggy Olson would play an important role in the series. Moss has been nominated for an Emmy for playing Peggy Olson four times and won the Best Actress Golden Globe for her performance as Olson opposite Jon Hamm's Don Draper back in January.

"In the opening credits, my name is after Jon Hamm's, who stars as Draper," says Moss in the interview. "But when I did the pilot I was not necessarily in that position. I'm No. 4 on the call sheet. But Matt [Weiner, creator of Mad Men] put me second in the credits. I guess he knew what was going to happen."

On her short lived marriage to "Portlandia" actor Fred Armisen, Moss said, "Looking back, I feel like I was really young, and at the time I didn't think that I was that young. It was extremely traumatic and awful and horrible. At the same time, it turned out for the best. I'm glad that I'm not there. I'm glad that it didn't happen when I was 50. I'm glad I didn't have kids. And I got that out of the way. Hopefully. Like, that's probably not going to happen again." However, the Golden Globe winner wasn't prepared for their breakup to catalyze her appearances in the tabloids. However, Moss admits to reading the weeklies from time to time. "I'm not perfect in that way," the Top of the Lake actress says, "I enjoy a little gossip. I like looking at photos of celebrities going to Starbucks."

Mad Men's final moments are coming to an end; in late March, Moss will go back to film the final seven episodes of the iconic show, which won't air until 2015. The first half of Season 7 of Mad Men (the final season) returns on Sunday April 13, 2013 on AMC.
