Mastermind behind the 2004 teen comedy hit Mean Girls, Tina Fey, talks about the possibility of having a Mean Girls reunion. Is she working on a musical play based on the film itself?

This all started with Lindsay Lohan told Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" that a Mean Girls reunion "needs to happen" hinting of a possible sequel to the popular teen flick. Now Tina Fey explains everything about the whole Mean Girls reunion rumors.

Tina Fey stated in "The Insider With Yaho,."

"I saw Lindsay at the first episode of 'The Tonight Show,' and I was just saying to her backstage, 'Oh, I think someone's going to call us because people have been calling, people have been trying to organize some kind of televised reunion because it's the 10th anniversary of the movie, but it's not like another movie."

The former "SNL" star also talked about making a musical, but will it be a "Mean Girls" musical?

"We're working on the musical, that's going to be in a couple years, I guess. So hopefully there will be like a screening or a party, but that's it. But that would be good, right?"

"I hope everyone can come," referring to the film's stars, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert and many more.

When Fey was asked if she is writing another movie, she replied by saying,

"No! I wish I had written a movie. No, it's just. ... Mostly we're trying to get a party going."

She added, "Just a party. At best a party."

Mean Girls is a box office success based on the book "Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and Other Realities of Adolescence" by author Rosalind Wiseman.

Will there be a reunion of sorts for the whole cast of Mean Girls? We'll find out because the anniversary of Mean Girls is coming up on April 30.
