It's a Marvel versus DC Comics Smackdown! Comic fans mark your calendars as Captain America 3 and Man of Steel 2 will collide on the summer of 2016. So which side are you on?
With hype the second Cap film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier fast approaching to cinemas around the globe, Marvel Studio's wasted little time in making a Captain America 3 which will be handled by Directors Joe and Anthony Russo and tweet from New York Post's Reed Tucker stated that Captain America 3 is scheduled for filming next year.
Of course Warner Bros. is also preparing for war as Zack Snyder's Man of Steel 2 is currently in the works with an impressive and controversial display of cast members including Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
Man of Steel 2 is set to be shown on May 6, 2016, but the problem is, Marvel has snagged the date for Captain America 3 and intends not back down from Warner Bros.
Marvel Movie Marvel Studious President Kevin Fiege told SlashFilm.com at a press conference for "Winter Soldier" that, "We're certainly keeping the date there and we'll announce what that movie is, I assume, in the next few months."
BoxOffice.com Vice-President and Chief Analyst Phil Contrino made a statement to TheWrap.
"Usually one side blinks, you always want to avoid this. It's not good for either movie."
He further added,
"If a film is strong enough, it doesn't matter when you open it, the idea that you have to open every superhero tentpole film between May and July is outdated and it hurts the marketplace."
