To get Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx to join the stellar cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is awesome and to hear him talk about his character in an interview is simply great! The talented actor is known for portraying emotionally-charged characters like Ray Charles in Ray and Max in Collateral.

Shifting from good guy roles to bad guy roles must have been tough on the actor, but it seems like Foxx has been enjoying his new evil character Electro. So who is this villain? In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 interview with MTV, Jamie Foxx revealed the true identity of Electro.

The 46-year old actor said, "What you'll see is that, for his whole life, no one is talking to him. People have stolen his ideas at the big company. He's a nobody. At a certain point, Spider-Man bumps into him and says, 'You're my guy. You're my ears and eyes on the street.' Then he says his name, [Max] and no one has ever said [Max] Dillon's name. He goes, 'Wow' and, when Spider-Man leaves, he sort of thinks that, 'I am Spider-Man's partner!' He's cutting out Spider-Man's face and pasting it on all his boards...Everything goes bad with his mom. She doesn't remember his birthday. He has something tragic happen and, when it turns on, he lights it up."

It must be challenging to portray Electro, with all the costume and that. During a live interview with Jamie Foxx via Twitter, the actor answered all the questions of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 fans. Here are excerpts from that Twitter chat:

Q: How does it feel to play the villain in a superhero movie?

JF: The villains always have the most fun...villains can go outside the lines.

Q: What did you do in order to get ready for this role?

JF: I worked a lot with my trainer. Played lots of basketball and cardio...Was looking for that that super villain bulky look if you know what I mean. Lots of back and traps... so I looked good in the uniform. Think you're in shape? You don't know jack!

Q: There were also some challenges to playing the blue bad guy. What was the biggest one?

JF: It was physical. Lots of time was spent hanging on the wires...It takes a certain level of physicality in the way I would have to move to get the electricity going.

Q: Why is Electro against Spidey?

JF: Electro has animosity against Spiderman, because Spiderman broke his promise... Spiderman asked Max to be his eyes and ears, and Max thought he made a friend... When that didn't pan out Max/Electro felt let down.

Q: What did you enjoy about making the movie?

JF: Being able to work with all the great actors and great director.

Did The Amazing Spider-Man 2 interview with Jamie Foxx got you all excited? Mark your calendars on May 2 for the next installment of the Spider-Man franchise.
