Namco Bandai has turned up the marketing for the game in overdrive as the J-Stars Victory Vs Launch is drawing near! With a life-sized statue of Super Saiyan Goku and Luffy doing their signature attacks on each other in the streets of Japan, you can tell the hype is overflowing.
J-Stars Victory Vs is a crossover fighting game that pits characters from various Shonen Jump manga against each other and to celebrate the launch, Namco Bandai Games putup life-sized statues of Dragon Ball Z's Super Saiyan Goku duking it out with One Piece's Monkey D. Luffy on the streets of Tokyo.
The statue shows Son Goku about to unleash his signature attack, the Kamehameha as Luffy slams his Gumu Gumu No Elephant Gun down on the shattered pavement as a car lies crumbled and overturned on the side.
The 10-meter-wide (about 30-feet-wide) art piece will stay on the sidewalk outside the Shibuya Parco department store from Monday until March 23.
A giant PlayStation 3 Controller on the side lets visitors activate sound effects and make the characters shout their attacks.
Namco Bandai Games also placed some ads at the JR Shibuya train station by plastering it with 20 different posters, depicting different dream match-ups that could be done within the game.
