It has been confirmed that Queen is teaming up with "American Idol" runner up Adam Lambert on a full-blast North American tour this coming June 2014.

Though the "Mad world" singer appears confident and flawless when he belts out Freddie Mercury classics like "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We are the Champions," Lambert admits to being nervous about the collaboration.

"At first, it was a little daunting when we did our first incarnation of this. I definitely felt apprehensive. Freddie Mercury is one of the greatest singers that ever lived, and he's a big idol for me, and I thought to myself, you know I hope that the fans dig this, you know, because there is a possibility that they wouldn't," Adam admitted to Euronews.com.

But the crowd reaction proves to be a big revelation to the "For Your Entertainment" pop star: "the reception was warm, the press reaction to it the first time was very warm."

Remaining members of Queen, guitarist Brian May and Roger Taylor is quick to defend their choice, noting that they thought about the decision quite seriously.

May told Rolling Stone about their apprehension as well:

"We were very conscious of that in making this decision. This is the closest that you'll ever get to see Queen as it was in our golden days, but it's not a reproduction. It's not an imitation. We're here live and real and we have a great singer. They'll be a lot of newness about this. I think that's very exciting. It'll be loud and dangerous and all the things that people used to look or in us."

The 32-year-old Lambert concluded why the Queen, Adam Lambert Tour 2014 is something worth watching:

"I think the thing that's really special is that this is the real deal. This is live. In today's music world, you go to a concert and you're getting a lot of playbacks. There's click tracks. It is what it is. I'm not hating on it. But this is the real deal. This is pure. We're not playing to a click. We're not playing to tracks. This is all live instruments. I'm singing all the vocals with these guys on vocals. It's purely organic. I think in today's day and age, it's very exciting for an audience to see something that has that much heart."
