Did Jennifer Lopez lip sync on American Idol? Yeah, that's what many people asked after the singer performed her latest hit "I Luh Ya Papi" on the talent show a few days ago. Before she shocked the viewers with her bad miming, the 44-year old diva sang live together with AI alumnae Jessica Sanchez, Allison Iraheta, and Pia Toscano.

That was a good start, but once J.Lo started dancing and people saw that her lips didn't match the lyrics of the song, then that caused an outrage among American Idol fans. Even the host of Travel Channel, Andrew Zimmern was surprised with that performance. He tweeted, "Did @jlo just lip sync? I am on DVR here. Is this already a "thing" with #idol fans? This is a singing show right?"

The Twitter world was filled with negative comments about the Jennifer Lopez lip sync act on American Idol. A fan named Nicholas Munk tweeted, "@JLo what happened to music? People getting ecstatic over a lip sync performance, not even written by the artist...Terrible."

Becky Bice agreed on that and wrote, "How embarrassing for #jlo that was a terrible lip sync performance. #Americanidol #youretoooldforthatcrap." Another fan named Ice Diddy tweeted, "Yo, JLo. You're a judge on American Idol a LIVE singing competition. Try not to lip sync the next time you perform live. K. Thanks. Bye."

In an interview with The Daily Show last year, Jennifer Lopez revealed that all performers lip sync at some point. She told Jon Stewart when they talked about Beyonce's lip sync scandal, "You know, sometimes it happens."

The hitmaker explained, "When you're in certain stadiums and in certain venues, they do pre-record things." A few months ago, the Red Hot Chili Peppers was also accused of not performing live during their Super Bowl performance. But the band's bassist Flea was the first to defend the band. He wrote on their website, "We decided that, with Anthony singing live, that we could still bring the spirit and freedom of what we do into the performance, and of course we played every not in the recording specially for the gig."

I think that the Jennifer Lopez lip sync rumors won't die until the Grammy nominee will speak up and defend her bad miming. It takes a real musician to admit they did that and explain to their fans like what Flea did.
