According to MTV UK, the Backstreet Boys are talking to the Spice Girls about doing a reunion tour. According to The Sun, Brian Littrell said, "We are actually in early talks about maybe doing a world tour together with the Spice Girls." There is no confirmation from either bands' representatives yet. Quit playing games with our hearts, Brian.
Additionally, the British girl band may have to join the tour as a four piece as Victoria Beckham has ruled herself out of reforming the very popular 90s pop group. The Spice Girls were last seen performing together at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics. After the London performance, Victoria Beckham said to Vanity Fair Italy, that the Olympics was the "perfect time to say, 'That's great. Thank you to everybody, but no more.'" Beckham, with her fashion line and hot hubby, has many a reason to decline reunion opportunities. The Spice Girls had a previous reunion tour, five years before the London performance, called "The Return Of The Spice Girls." Additionally, the band was together at the premiere of "Viva Forever," a musical based on their songs, back in December 2012. "Viva Forever" closed after seven months due to bad reviews and poor ticket sales.
The Backstreet Boys are already going to be on tour this summer. The U.S. boy band will be doing shows in the U.S. this summer for their "In A World Like This" tour (with Avril Lavigne). Additionally, in October, they will be performing on the Backstreet Boys Cruise, which sails from Miami to Half Moon Cay.
What favorite songs of the Spice Girls and/or Backstreet Boys would you want to see live? Could the bands do a live mash-up of their songs?
