Sci-fi movie fans were treated with a full-length Jupiter Ascending trailer yesterday! By the looks of it, there is a chance that it could become the next Matrix. The creators of this new science fiction film are The Wachowskis, who were responsible for the success of The Matrix Trilogy. Jupiter Ascending will be released in the US on July 18 and in the UK on July 25.
Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum headlines the latest offering of filmmakers Lana and Andy Wachowski. The 30-year old actress stars as Jupiter Jones while the Magic Mike heartthrob plays the role of Caine.
Seeing the new Jupiter Ascending trailer must have gotten you curious about the plot of the movie. Here's a short summary of the new sci-fi flick courtesy of IGN:
Jupiter Jones was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people's houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine, a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along - her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.
In an interview with Collider, Channing Tatum revealed that the ambitious film was made with little or no digital stuntmen. He said, "We're doing stuff that's never been done, inside the camera, in the CG world, and the physical stuff. All the stuff is really real and it's been hard figuring it out because they don't like doing anything that's been done before. So we're definitely doing some new stuff, so hopefully everybody likes it. And it's fun, it's got some cheek to it. It's a cheeky movie a little bit."
He said it right! The last part of the Jupiter Ascending trailer was cheeky indeed when he gave Mila Kunis a kiss despite all the chaos. Check out this new clip from Warner Bros:
