Paul Walker's Mother To Let Go Of Guardianship Request If Meadow Walker's Mother Goes To Rehab

Paul Walker's mother is reportedly letting go of her guardianship request if her granddaughter Meadow Walker's mother goes to rehab. Cheryl Walker filed a request last week seeking legal guardianship over the actor's 15-year-old daughter Meadow and the $25 million estate her father left her. She claimed that Meadow's mother, Walker's ex-girlfriend Rebecca Soteros, has a drinking problem with two DUI (driving under the influence) counts to her name.

The elder Walker was following her son's wishes stated in his will, which was created and signed in 2001. It stated that Meadow was the sole beneficiary of the actor's estate, and named Paul's father, also named Paul Walker, the executor of the will. It also appointed Cheryl as Meadow's guardian as well as guardian of the $25 million.

Before the Fast & Furious actor's death, Meadow had been living with him full-time in California. She moved from her home with Rebecca in Hawaii, and her mother's drinking is said to have been the reason for it. After the actor's death, Rebecca went to live with Cheryl and Meadow, but things changed when Cheryl eventually filed for legal guardianship.

TMZ is reporting that Rebecca has told Cheryl that she would go to rehab. Cheryl in turn has said she will not seek guardianship if Rebecca completes the program and gets drug testing afterwards. Rebecca is said to have joined a detox program last Friday, and will be in full-time rehab soon. Meadow is still living with the Walker family.

Paul, who died when he was 40 years old, had Meadow when he was 25 years old. He met his end in a massive car accident in Santa Clarita, California. He was a passenger in a Porsche driven by his friend Roger Rodas, which crashed into a pole and a tree on Hercules Street.
