JK Rowling is going to be quite busy for the following days as three new Harry Potter movies are on the works and the plot of these three films are set before the first Potter movie, but what's gonna happen to the spin-off movie?
Taking a page out of the J.R.R Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings sequel The Hobbit, the new Harry Potter films are divided into three stories. JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter book series will write the three films based on the 54-page Hogwarts textbook that she wrote back in 2001, between the publication of the fourth and fifth Harry Potter stories.
The story of the new Harry Potter trilogy will take place 70 years before the events of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone (originally Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone) and it's centers on a new character Newt Scamander, a "Magizoologist" specializing in the study of magical creatures.
The series was first announced in September as a project, but Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara revealed to the New York Times last Saturday that the films would be a trilogy.
So what happens to the spin-off title,The Fantastic Beast & Where to find them? Well as it turns out the title is the new Harry Potter trilogy film. JK Rowling explained in an interview with New York Times that.
"When I say he made 'Fantastic Beasts happen, it isn't PR-speak but the literal truth. We had one dinner, a follow-up telephone call, and then I got out the rough draft that I'd thought was going to be an interesting bit of memorabilia for my kids and started rewriting!"
Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger in all eight Harry Potter films will likely make a cameo as she told MTV News.
