Ellen Page recently explained her character's time travel abilities in X-Men: Days of Future Past and the film's director Bryan Singer gives a lovely tour of the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
A video of Ellen Page was uploaded on YouTube explaining her character Shadowcat/Kitty Pride's ability to travel through time. We all know in the comics that Shadowcat has the ability to phase through any solid matter, but the film added a little tweak on her powers by sending someone back in time.
"Kitty Pryde has the ability to send someone's consciences back in time to their younger self. In this post-apocalyptic war era, the X-Men are being pursued by the sentinels, so they develop a plan to send someone back in time," Ellen Page explains in the featurette about Wolverine's mission that bridges "X-Men" cast with "First Class" stars. "The individual whose mind is going back gets weaker as time goes on, as well as Kitty. We just hope that Wolverine can complete the mission before she has to let go."
With that being said fans have now an idea why Wolverine has been chosen for this mission simply, because of his healing ability which enables him to survive from dangerous circumstances. Page further explained that a normal person would likely die when his/her consciousness slips further back in time, killing him/her.
It may have been useful information or just a plain old spoiler, you'd be the judge. On more fun note director Bryan Singer gives us a behind-the-scenes tour of the set X-Men: Days of Future Past. It features Cerebro set and the Monastery set. Here are the two videos of the tour below.
