Katy Perry's hair color changes so often, it's hard to keep track. It seems like her hairstyles have run the gamut -- from conservative to all-out edgy -- and yet she's not done experimenting.

The pop star's most recent Instagram post announced her latest makeover - green hair. In the photo, she stares demurely at the camera, her face mostly hidden behind her new hair. Her wavy locks have been cut short with even bangs, and they've been died an uneven, two-tone green color. She's wearing a delicate gold Chanel necklace and a sheer, sleeveless, white top. The picture had the caption, "SLIME GREEN FOR SPRING by my bb's @neeenaboo & @brantmayfield at the @mcmillansalon."

Before she had her hair done, she told E! News, "I've wanted to go slime green for a long time. It's spring time and I think it's time to freshen up my look." She added, "I'm really excited about slime green, but I hope my hair doesn't fall out."

The singer's new tresses seem like another phase in a slew of adventurous hair phases. Over the years, her hair has gone through a lot - long, sleek purple; wavy dark blue; straight and short aqua, blush bob cut; curly black with electric blue and purple highlights; girly old rose; shocking bright blue; sandy blonde; short, razor-sharp, and red; thick and ginger; and her most normal lush, long, and black. This latest green cut is only the latest in what appears to be a continuous evolution.

Perry seems to be back to her colorful self after breaking up with fellow music star John Mayer back in February. The power pair had been on and off for a very long time since they started dating in the summer of 2012. They have broken up a few times since then, but the last one appeared to be for good, and was reportedly caused by their hectic careers.
