The Marvel Agents of SHIELD cast will be getting Maria Hill back. Cobie Smulders is making her return to the TV series on April 29.

The actress, who just wrapped up her role as Robin Scherbatsky on How I Met Your Mother, will soon be appearing on Agents of SHIELD for the second time. She will be joining the ABC drama's 20th episode this season, in an arc that touches on the most recent Marvel movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The May sweeps episode will begin from where Winter Soldier left off for Smulder's character, the top-ranking SHIELD agent Maria Hill. In the movie, Hill seemed to be going off on a different path after SHIELD's undoing, and was shown heading over to Stark Industries. She will be teaming up with Agent Coulson (played by Clark Gregg) on the show, in a sort of continuation of the movie, but according to reports, their team-up isn't going to be as easy-going as fans might expect.

The Hollywood Reporter has the details from Agents of SHIELD executive producer Jeffrey Bell. He explained, "Maria being the high-level person she was, takes the long view. When she shows up and we know that she's [working] for Stark Industries, in a certain way I think she's looking for a fresh start and a new way for her to help [the world], a new way for her to be involved, a new way for her to do good. But I think it's a great opportunity for her and Coulson to be in some conflict because he's the guy who doesn't want to let go, and she's the one that's clearly moved on."

Cobie Smulders first appeared on the show at the very start of the series. Maria Hill had a cameo in the series' first episode.
