After weeks of speculations, rumors of How I Met Your Mother Star Jason Segel and Dawson's Creek star and former wife of Tom Cruise Katie Holmes dating have proven to be untrue.

Gossips first came out that the pair are exclusively dating began after a source reportedly told Star Magazine that the two are dating and "having a great time together."

They are not completely new to each other as both actors met in 2011 on the set of Segel's sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Holmes appeared as a guest star to portray the character Naomi, aka "The Slutty Pumpkin," one of Ted's (Josh Radnor) love interests.

It is worth noting that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise settled for divorce last July 2012 after five years of marriage. However, there were no clear indication of a third party why they split up.

To add up, Segel did date a Dawson's Creek star, which by the way Katie Holmes became known for, which is Michelle Williams for about a year. The pair split in 2013. Holmes will also reportedly be coming back to TV soon with a show that as yet has no title. The show is described as a high society drama.

"The story is completely untrue," Holmes' representative Leslie Sloane tells Us Weekly. "[Holmes and Segel] have not spoken since she appeared on How I Met Your Mother.

Meanwhile, How I Met Your Mother recently concluded and Jason Segel is set to appear on two films this year, Sex Tape and The End Of The Tour.
