After watching "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", Marvel Comics fans can't wait to hear "The Avengers 2" spoilers. Even if the movie is still more than a year away before it hits the theaters, Avengers fans can't wait to find out how much airtime will their favorite characters have in the new film.
In the 2012 film, Samuel Jackson, who stars as Nick Fury, played an integral role in "The Avengers". He was the one who recruited Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and The Hulk to the group. Since he already did his part, it seems that his character may not be appearing much in the next sequel.
In an interview with BuzzFeed, the 65-year old actor revealed a few "The Avengers 2" spoilers. He said, "Avengers 2 is so huge, and having seen the tag, I don't know there's a real space for Nick in that scenario because everything is so extraordinary."
Samuel added, "When you come down to it, Nick's an ordinary guy who knows how to bend extraordinary people to his will." He explained, "The Avengers sequel is not about Nick and what S.H.I.E.L.D. is going through. We're going to skip over him in an interesting sort of way."
I'm sure the fans of Samuel Jackson felt a little disappointed by this, but he assures them that he will still be part of the film. The "Pulp Fiction" star said, "Don't get me wrong, I'll show up, but it's not to be an effective part of the plot or the resolution of the plot from The Winter Soldier."
So where will Nick Fury be while The Avengers do their thing? The actor himself revealed, "Nick is retreating back to the shadow world." Samuel explained, "It's this place that he and Natasha [Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow] refer to a lot, and it makes him a much more interesting character, who won't be instantly recognizable because of that."
Just like Batman, huh? Would that mean that the Black Widow will also be gone for awhile since there were rumors that Scarlett Johansson will have a shorter role due to her pregnancy? Let's find out soon when more "The Avengers 2" spoilers will be revealed.
