What's this true believers, Black Cat and Spider-Slayer in the Sinister Six spin-off movie?
You read it right, Black Cat and Spider-Slayer are joining the Spider-Man Universe, but are they a part of the six member villain group known as the Sinister Six?
According to reports from Den of Geek, Amazing Spider-Man producers Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad have confirmed that both Black cat and Spider-Slayer are joining the Sony's Spider-Man Universe.
"Definitely" Avi Arad said, "Everything you see that makes you think about the comics, I think you should read into it".
Matt Tolmach added that "There are no accidents. When they'll be implemented, that's food for thought".
Two people have already been cast to play the roles of Black Cat and Spider-Slayer and they are Felicity Jones and B.J. Novak.
In the comics, Felicity Hardy a.k.a Black Cat is the daughter of a famous cat burglar and after a traumatic incident in her college days were in she was raped, Felicia trained her body in acrobats and studied various martial arts, she decided to follow her father's foot-steps and became Black Cat, a notorious thief. She often clash with Spider-Man in numerous occasions often earning her ire, but eventually their relationship have began to change from enemies to unlikely allies and eventually close friends, and often lovers.
On the other hand, Spider-Slayer has no love for Spider-Man what so ever. Alistair Smythe is a scientist and inventor who wanted Spider-Man dead after the latter accuse him of the death of his father Spencer Smythe. His father was responsible for making robotic killing machines called "Spider -Slayers" to fight web-slinger. Eventually Alistair inherited his father's legacy and developed an obsession over Spidey to the point he became a living weapon himself called the Ultimate Spider-Slayer and wants nothing more than his destruction.
Could these be a sign of things to come? After all both of them will make a cameo in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie and it could be a possibility that both of them are the first two members of the Sinister Six or possible appear on Spidey movies 3 and 4.
