"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" made its debut on the big theater's yesterday, but the viewers end up talking about "X-Men Days of Future Past" spoilers. The post-credit cookie of the Sony Pictures film featured Marvel Studios' new sequel of the "X-Men" instead of the next installment of "The Amazing Spider-Man". That left many people asking if the web-slinging superhero will join the mutants someday.
The clip showed Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Toad (Evan Jonigkeit), and Havok (Lucas Till) fighting against William Stryker (Josh Helman) and his team. It's not clear why Sony Pictures and Fox decided to choose that scene as post-credits. Would there be a possible collaboration in the future?
If this is true, then this is probably one of the biggest "X-Men Days of Future Past" spoilers. Imagine Spiderman working with Wolverine, Professor X, and the other mutants. That would be really awesome!
It won't be surprising if that happens since both characters were created by Marvel Comics. Sony and Marvel also tried to collaborate on an Easter egg that would feature the Oscorp Tower in the Manhattan skyline in "The Avengers". However, it didn't push through because of the schedule of the visual effects team.
As reported by Variety, the post-credit cookie was to compromise the contract of Marc Webb (director of The Amazing Spider-Man) with Fox after working on the 2009 film "(500) Days of Summer". He was supposed to do the sequel for Spider-Man immediately for Sony after the 2012 installment, but it was moved due to other obligations.
Other "X-Men Days of Future Past" spoilers got the fans of Anna Paquin worried that Rogue won't appear in the film. Her name was included in the credits, but director Bryan Singer revealed that she will only have a short role in the movie.
Singer said, "It was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in." He added, "Even though she's in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won't appear in it."
According to Fox, " If anything, we're betting we'll see Paquin in the big Sentinel battle in the future where many X-Men get killed, forcing Wolverine to go back in time, and then we'll likely see her in the presumed happy ending when Wolverine returns from the past to see that he's fixed the timeline. Either way, we're glad she'll show up."
We will update you with more "X-Men Days of Future Past" spoilers before it hits the big theaters on May 23.
