This week K-drama couple Han Ga In and Yun Jung Hoon announced they were expecting a child. It will be the first child for the couple who have been married for a decade.

The bride is seven weeks pregnant and although the news was announced to friends and family, it only leaked out to the public. The couple did not want to make their happy announcement public in light of the recent Sewol ferry tragedy that plunged the nation into mourning.

Last year the couple said they hoped to get pregnant during the Year of the Horse, which began at the end of January 2014.

"We hope to conceive a baby in 2013 and have it born the following year, so the baby will have the same zodiac sign as me, the horse," said Yun Jung Hoon.

Although they were united on when to have a child, they differed on which sex was preferable.

"I want a girl but my wife wants a son," said Yun.

The couple met on the set of the drama "Yellow Handkerchief" in 2003. The drama was still filming when the two actors began date. They married two years later.

Although the couple has been married for a decade, Han Ga In recently said that marrying Yun Jung Hoon was the best decision she ever made. When he was asked how he survived the seven-year itch, he said it never happened to him. He still loves his wife and finds her very attractive. She is one of his favorite subjects to photograph.

"I want to capture her every moment but my wife is an actress," he said. "I can't just take pictures of her whenever I like."

He prefers taking pictures of her without makeup on.

"I think she is prettier without makeup but she is also pretty with makeup," he said.

Yun, who is known for his work in "East of Eden," "Vampire Prosecutor," "Vampire Prosecutor 2" and "I Summon You Gold," also stars in the Chinese mini-drama "A Time of Love" and appeared in the 2013 film "Good Friends."

Han Ga In starred in the drama "The Moon Embracing the Sun" with Kim Soo Hyun and the film "Architecture 101" with Uhm Tae Woong.

Although the actors support each other's careers they long ago decided not to watch each other on film. He had admitted in the past that her onscreen kissing scenes bothered him. When "The Moon Embracing the Sun" was on, he did the housework rather than watch it.

The couple is happy that they are finally becoming parents. Han Ga In does not plan on acting during her pregnancy but will focus on prenatal care.
