Transformers: Age of Extinction news: Peter Cullen talks about Optimus Prime in the movie, as Mark Wahlberg promotes the new Transformers movie under a different name "Transformers: Lost Age" with a new trailer revealed for Japanese audiences.
In a recent interview with USA Today, Optimus Prime voice actor Peter Cullen spoke about playing the Autobot leader in the latest Transformers movie, and his work voicing the character throughout the years. Peter Cullen Stated that his inspiration while voicing Optimus Prime came from his brother Larry, who had served in Vietnam War and died in 2011.
Peter Cullen has been the voice of Optimus Prime for almost three decades starting with the Transformers cartoons in the 80's. Transformers director Michael Bay has been suggesting that "Age of Extinction" will give a fresh start to the whole Transformers series, and that Optimus Prime will also be undergoing some changes as the character starts to lose his faith in the goodness and purity of humanity, but Cullen believed that despite all that Optimus will face these challenges head-on and will remain strong and his valuable traits will endure in the end.
"He is exactly who he was from the very original concept," Cullen said. "I've always felt a hero should have the qualities that are inspiring and helpful and fatherly and at the same time (be) courageous. I don't see those character traits changing at all."
Meanwhile, another star of the Transformers: Age of Extinction Mark Wahlberg promotes the movie to Japanese audiences under a different name "Transformers: Lost Age" and Japanese trailer of it has been revealed. There's also a small introduction of Mark Walhberg in the beginning, and it goes like this.
"Go check out my latest film Transformers: Lost Age, it has tons of action, new characters and its full of effects that you've never seen before, it opens in Japan in August, don't miss it."
Transformers: Age of Extinction will be shown in cinemas on June 27, 2014.
