Nick Diaz's Future Plans Involves Venture To Boxing! Trainer Freddie Roach Unimpressed With Former UFC Welterweight?

Nick Diaz's future plans involves going to boxing but the former UFC Welterweight's intention does not seem to sit well on seasoned trainer Freddie Roach, who said the former "does not fight like a fighter."

Speaking about Nick Diaz's future plans, he told Marcos Villegas of The Boxing Channel that he likes to fight at a certain weight division.

"I like to fight at 167 if I was fighting boxing. That's the weight that I fought at originally," he said. "I've had one pro fight. I've had a lot of boxing experience, worked with a lot of different fighters."

Many respected figures in the boxing world have given their respective opinions about Nick Diaz's future plans. Fighters like Andre Ward and Roy Jones Jr gave a piece of their mind, with Jones even going as far as entertaining the possibility of actually facing the retired UFC veteran in a boxing match.

Famed trainer Freddie Roach also sounded off, saying "He's a tough guy, ok. He won't tap out and he's a tough guy," Roach told Fight Hub TV.

"I've never met the person. He might be one of the better punchers in UFC, but he doesn't fight like a fighter," Freddie Roach added.

"He doesn't shuffle in his combinations and doesn't put any power behind his shots. He walks forward in a straight line and he walks backward in a straight line. I'm not really that impressed with his boxing," he said.

When asked about the possibility of an Octagon comeback, the outspoken 30-year old from Stockton, California is not closing his doors, but Nick Diaz holds some apprehensions about that future plan mainly due to fighter pay issues.

"I'd like to fight for the world title against Johny Hendricks. But these guys are kind of holding out. I'm trying to renegotiate my contract, try to negotiate some fights for this year," he continued. "We'll see. I'm always game, you know I'm always game."
