Jodi Arias' trial took a strange turn after the report that she contacted hepatitis C through a dirty needle and is suing Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Nancy Grade turned out to be bogus. In a related story, the boyfriend killer proved to be more of a household name in the US than a notorious abortionist who killed hundreds of babies.

The gossip news site TMZ, which reported the lawsuit not related to the Jodi Arias trial after reportedly obtaining legal documents was "burned" by a false tip, The Smoking Gun reported.

The information was apparently provided by Jonathan Lee Riches, an inmate at the state prison in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania who duped several media outlets before by dropping names of celebrities and well-known personalities in bogus lawsuits.

Jonathan Lee Riches "filed hundreds of fatuous lawsuits" dragging the names of public figures and Hollywood celebs while serving his sentence of 10 years for fraud,Smoking Gun added.

Meanwhile, an impromptu man-on-the-street survey that was conducted by HLNtv showed how spectacle of the Jodi Arias trial over the death of boyfriend Travis Alexander propelled her to a household name compared to Kermit Gosnell.

Filmmaker Phelim McAleer, who produced the episode after noting the media circus surrounding the Jodi Arias trial, asked ordinary people whether they recognize two photos-one showing the boyfriend killer and the other of the abortionist doctor.

According to The Foundry, Kermit Gosnell was convicted on May 13, 2013 or five days after Jodi Arias' conviction. The doctor was suspected to have killed hundreds if not thousands over four decades of being an abortionist.

"That goes to show you that the media focuses on the trials they want us to be concerned about," one interviewee told Phelim McAleer, who is trying to raise $2.1 million to helm a film regarding the abortion doctor titled "Gosnell."
