Disney Infinity Marvel Superheroes trailer and toy figurines have been revealed and it features your favorite comic book characters come to life from the Avengers, Nick Fury, Spider-Man, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot to villains such as Loki, MODOK, and Green Goblin. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, then watch it below:

Disney Infinity's new 2.0 update has really stepped-up to the plate on adding Marvel characters joining our beloved Disney characters in the game. The trailer features some new areas that have a similar feels to the Marvel movies such as cities, a road from Asgard and The Avengers Tower. Players can now play as the Avengers: Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury, Guardians of the Galaxy members Groot and Rocket Raccoon, and your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, but it won't be much of a superhero themed gameplay without its villains.

We see further in the trailer that Marvel villains Loki, MODOK, and Green Goblin wreak havoc in the game with an army of frost giants, and it's up for our heroes to save the day. We also see photos of toy figurines in the 2.0 update, and here are some below.

Disney Interactive tapped Brian Michael Bendis, longtime Marvel Comics artist and writer, to write the story for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes and to ensure that the game has the look, feel and "taste" of Marvel's heroes and villains.

Vice president and general manager of Disney Infinity John Blackburn, and executive producer John Vignocchi confirmed that all content from the original version of Disney Infinity will carry over to the 2.0 Edition. All toys, play sets, power discs and Toy Box levels will be supported, as play sets in the 2.0 Edition will be much larger than those in the original version of the game.

Marvel's version of Manhattan, for example, is four times larger than the size of the Incredibles play set.

"We needed to make the world a lot larger," Blackburn stated, "because our characters can fly."

Flying in 2.0 will introduce hovering and forward flight, and players will be able to engage in combat in both modes. Characters will also be able to perform super jumps, and climb up the sides of buildings.

The 2.0 Edition will also raise the level cap for characters and expand upgrading and customization with a skill tree-style interface.

Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition and Marvel Super Heroes will launch with a new starter pack, which includes an Avengers-themed play set, two power discs and three characters: Thor, Black Widow and Iron Man.
