The Gran Turismo 5 Online Event will be a set-up for its sequel Grand Turismo 6 and five unlockable cars will be exclusive for the game as pre-order registration dates have been confirmed. So buckle up your seat belts, and get ready because Gran Turismo rides again.
According to the official Gran Turismo website, The Gran Tursimo 5 online services for the PlayStation 3 will end on May 31, 2014. The website also indicated that today May 1 Gran Turismo will launch its final online even for GT5 as they unveil new DLC content to its successor Gran Turismo 6.
Gran Turismo 6 will have five new cars that have been chosen for the game and pre-order registration dates were revealed on June 2-29 using the same PSN ID.
The cars that are chosen for Gran Turismo 6 are the following:
-2009 Abarth Grande Punto
-2011 Renault Sport Megane R.S. Trophy
-2008 Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34)
-2012 Tesla Motors Model S Signature Performance
-2012 Subaru S206 NBR Challenge Package
According to reports from Polyphony, the Gran Turismo dev team hand selected these cars specifically as they will be very useful in the early stages of Gran Turismo 6. Gran Turismo 5 was released on PS3 in November 2010 and was succeeded by Gran Turismo 6 this past December.
GT5′s online servers go offline permanently at the end of May, along with MAG, SOCOM: Confrontation and three Resistance games.
