The Fantastic Four reboot has added a new villain the Mole Man in the movie, and Tim Blake Nelson is in talks about portraying the eccentric and socially awkward Fantastic Four Villain.
The Fantastic Four reboot has officially started filming in Louisiana this week after several delays during the film's scheduling process. Directed by "Chronicle's" own Josh Trank, the movie will hint a different origin story that is somewhere between Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and Chronicle.
It was confirmed a few months that British actor Toby Kebbell will portray Doctor Doom in the reboot, but the story here is that Mole Man is added in the reboot and he will be portrayed by Tim Blake Nelson,
According to reports from THR, Tim Blake Nelson is currently in talks with the Mole Man role, and he described Mole Man as an "eccentric and socially awkward scientist." THR also reported that he will only play his alter-ego Harvey Elder in the movie.
This isn't the first time Nelson was in a Marvel movie, he appeared in the Incredible Hulk movie as Samuel Sterns, the alter-ego the Hulk's enemy the Leader.
Nelson is a brilliant character actor whose career has included many memorable roles, including Delmar O'Donnell in the Coen brothers' O Brother, Where Art Thou, creepy prison warden Gideon in Minority Report and "Dr" Pendanski in the film adaptation of Louis Sachar's Holes.
In the comics, Harvey Elder is a nuclear engineer and explorer who was shunned by the rest of society due to his diminutive, homely appearance and inability to get along with others. This eventually drove him underground, where he became the leader of a subterranean hive of creatures called the Moloids, and in that momment named himself the Mole man. He was also the first villain that the Fantastic Four bfought during their early run.
So what do you think of Mole Man in the Fantastic Four reboot?
