The Lego Movie 2 has been confirmed and the studio hired a writer that previously worked for Disney, the owner of Marvel. Does this mean that the Lego Movie 2 would feature Marvel superheroes instead of DC characters like the Justice League?
Jared Stern was recently hired to write The Lego Movie 2 (with Michelle Morgan) and his other credits include The Internship and The Watch. What's interesting to see is that he's no stranger to Disney, having provided "additional story material" for Wreck-It Ralph and The Princess and the Frog.
Could this mean that Marvel superheroes are going to be featured in Lego Movie 2 instead of DC character or could we see the two interact?
Superman being "boyscouts" with Captain America and Bruce Wayne having a "showdown" with Tony Stark or The Flash having a race with Quicksilver would something fans want to see done in movies but alas, this won't happen as even though Jared Stern worked for some Disney movies, it doesn't mean that he would bring the rest of Disney's products with him such as Marvel.
It has been confirmed that Will Arnett will return in Lego Movie 2 as Batman and he has comments about what fans will see in Lego Movie 2 regarding his character, The Dark Knight:
"What was fun about the first film was playing with the idea of Batman being Batman," Arnett reflected. "Now we can start to get down to what sort of makes him tick. And I like to see a little lighter side of Batman too, see him having fun."
Warner Brothers has already announced a May 26, 2017 release date for The Lego Movie 2. Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan are set to write the script, with The Lego Movie's Dan Lin and Roy Lee returning to produce.
