Ana Julaton's ONE FC debut ends in victory as the three-time boxing champion turned mixed martial artist put on an impressive performance by defeating Egyptian Aya Saeid Saber via third round stoppage. "The Hurricane's" first professional match took place at the Rise Of Heroes event held last May 2, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.

Ana Julaton's experience as a professional fighter and long-time Taekwondo practitioner helped her greatly, as she has so far shown a smooth transition from boxing to MMA, contrary to other fighters.

During Ana Julaton's ONE FC debut, she was able to stand toe-to-toe against her opponent's kickboxing and takedowns, proving that she can be best at both disciplines.

Not to be outdone, Aya Saeid Saber began to fight more intelligently by choosing not to engage in a boxing match, and instead utilize more kicks. She was even able to use her takedowns to bring the fight to the ground, where she was more comfortable.

But Ana Julaton's relatively short MMA training began to pay off, as she was able to reverse positions and be back on top. From there, she never relented, as she rained down a ground-and-pound barrage forcing the referee to put an end to the fight with only a minute remaining.

For the Filipina-American fighter, her MMA debut has been a learning experience.

"One of the things I want to definitely work on is the pacing of it, being able to think three steps ahead, depending on what situation it's going to be," said Julaton in an interview with GMA News TV. "It's a different game of chess."

Despite the impressive performance, "The Hurricane" remained gracious in victory, as she has always been. But when asked bout Ana Julaton's ONE FC future plans, she remained uncertain about pursuing an MMA career, .

"As of now, I don't know yet," she said in another post-fight interview. "I need to digest what's happening. I'm still living in the moment."
