Mean Girls Musical: Readings To Happen During Summer And Fall While Tina Fey And Husband Jeff Richmond Reveal Details, Show To Be Released By 15th Anniversary?

"Mean Girls" just celebrated its 10th anniversary as more details of the upcoming musical were revealed.

Tina Fey and composer husband Jeff Richmond are to collaborate on the "Mean Girls" musical that may even have a "Fetch" song.

For those who don't know, "fetch" is the word Gretchen tried to "make happen" throughout the movie, only to be shut down by Regina.

Fey and Richmond answered the two most pressing questions: Will Regina George sing? If so, when?

The answer is yes, according to Vulture, who had the chance to chat with the couple about the highly anticipated musical.

Although Fey and Richmond had wanted Regina to sing in the second act, plans have changed.

"We decided we are going to let it happen early in the show, as opposed to later in the show. I can't give you the specific moment, but within the 15 minutes, Regina is going to be belting out a number somehow," revealed Richmond.

Fans will be excited to know that readings and workshops are set to happen "during the course of this year." Richmond stated they could come during the summer and into the fall.

Although the movie "Mean Girls" had quite a star-studded cast, don't expect to see the same in the musical because Fey seems to have a different plan in mind.

"I think we really want to find interesting people that no one has seen before. I don't think I can say Audra McDonald will play Cady. Hopefully we'll find a young person who, at this moment, is still in college but will be making her way to New York as we write. Still a fetus somewhere," explained the 30 Rock star.

As we wait for more details, Richmond reassured fans that the musical "is going along swimmingly."

He added, "We're very happy with how things are coming along so far. And maybe this thing will be out by the 'Mean Girls' 15th anniversary."

More "Mean Girls" musical details to come.
