WWDC latest news 2014 point to industry watchers talking more about software than a possible release of the iWatch, or any other device in particular. The Cupertino, Calif. company hinted earlier that a release of an iWatch along with the iPhone 6 launch ahead of the holiday shopping season.
However, there are other rumors suggesting a potential acquisition by Apple Inc by of the a micro-LED firm Lux Vue. Amid speculation of WWDC iWatch latest news 2014 and the unveiling of Apple's iWatch, reports say that this 'won't be happening at the June event.
But, Apple is picking up speed for a launch near September closer to the Q3 of 2014.
The latest in Apple's list of takeovers is LuxVue, a developer of micro-LED display.
a developer of microLED displays, attracted much attention - not for the purchase. Apple did not confirm the move or the price, but released a statement in line with Apple's usual glum prospects in M&A.
"Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans," said Apple in a statement release in response to the possibility of an acquisition.
"Also [LuxVue displays] can be on curved substrates, so if somebody was gonna make a really great watch, you might want to use it there," News.com.au reported.
More than that, LuxVue's VP of technology is Kapil Sakariya, who was an Apple engineer on display architecture. Sakariya has a patent for placing small displays on devices.
Instead of having a bright white light and then filtering away the colors you don't want, at every pixel, it puts down two red, two green, two blue directly emissive LEDs," John Doerr, partner at Lux Vue said. "This will deliver nine times better brightness ... with lower battery requirements."
Another news item revolving around the rumor mill is Apple's "hiring spree" of tech personnel in the medical field, which is another hint that the iWatch specializing on health and fitness may be in the offing, reported Reuters . The iPhone 6 will have a heart monitor on it, says reports.
Recent changes in Apple's LinkedIn profile suggest, "at least half a dozen prominent experts in biomedicine," with an emphasis to monitor "everything from blood-sugar levels to nutrition, beyond the fitness-oriented devices now on the market.," said DesignTrend.
WWDC iWatch latest news 2014 suggest a release in the third quarter of the year and no chance of a June release. Apple probably has a hold on the iPhone 6 production by now, and is ready to start on the iWatch. In all likehood, a possible launch close to September will include both the highly anticipated iPhone 6 and the iWatch.
Apple iWatch release date rumors also emerged in the wake of media reports highlighting layoffs of Nike's Fuelband employees. Concept designs for the Apple iWatch have gained strength with Nike's disinterest in pursuing tracking devices. In fact, analysts say that the iWatch could look very similar to the Nike fitness device.
Rumors also suggest that the iWatch concept will be a combination of the fuelband and Apple iOS. In fact Tim Cook is an avid Fuelband wearer and enthusiast and he's also one of Nike's Board of Directors.
One emerging concept design for Apple iWatch signals a collaboration between Nike and Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) to finally begin production of the the highly anticipated iWatch. The iWatch concept design is a precursor to the long awaited iWatch, announced as a future release since the first prototype smart watches were unveiled at the MWC 2013.
