Warcraft movie news: the film finishes shooting in three weeks as Warcraft movie producer hints of a lengthy post-production work afterwards for the video game movie. Will it beat movie franchises like Lord of The Rings and Star Wars?

Warcraft director Duncan Jones tweeted on his Twitter page that they will finish shooting the movie in three weeks.

It was recently reported that the movie's release date was pushed back from December 18, 2015 to March 11, 2016 due to Star Wars Episode VII snatching the scheduled date for the movie. There's already some behind-the-scenes work from the Warcraft movie as several internet sites found a photo of Duncan Jones at doing his work behind the camera.

In an interview with Crave Online, Legendary Picture's CEO Thomas Tull confirmed that the space of almost two years between Warcraft wrapping production and hitting theatres worldwide is partially due to the need to release the movie within the best possible window. The post-production team of the Warcraft movie will make excellent good use of their time in working on the post-production parts of the movie until it is ready ti be shown on the scheduled date of release.

"Part of it is getting the date right. As you may have noticed, these next two years, there's pretty big titles coming out. We wanted to make sure that we got that right, but there are some sequences and some things that Duncan Jones has done that are truly on the cutting edge. You want to have plenty of time to make sure that we dial those in. So by the time they get home and set up, it'll be a little less than two years. It'll be about 20 months but we really want to take our time and get this right because the technology that's employed really is some next generation stuff."

Thomas Tull continued on by stating the films story and director Duncan Jones take on Warcraft.

"I would say it's a linear story, but at the same time, it's Duncan Jones. That's what we wanted, was again that different flare, not just straightforward fantasy and everything. Look, it's a privilege. Being able to go from Interstellar, [which is] our fifth movie with Chris Nolan into Guillermo del Toro and Gareth Edwards and now Duncan Jones. It's really a privilege to work around these folks."

It looks as though Duncan Jones may have to step up to the plate if he wants the Warcraft movie to succeed in ratings against the already established franchises such as the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars series. With the release date for Warcraft movie snatched away from Star Wars episode VI and the final LOTR prequel movie the Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies seemingly in the works this year. Jones and the post-production team of the movie must put a lot of time and effort in the two year gap they have been given to make Warcraft movie a successful franchise that will rival both Star War, and LOTR in on the big screen.

The Warcraft is an epic fantasy movie based on Blizzard Entertainment's popular game of the the same name. The movie stars Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Rob Kazinsky, Daniel Wu, Clancy Brown, and Burkley Duffield.
