José Aldo's UFC 176 rematch against current number one contender, Chad "Money" Mendes will definitely end on the floor as the Featherweight Champion plans to knock out his opponent despite his respect for him. The event is scheduled to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on August 2.

"Junior" and "Money" first fought each other in January 2012 at UFC 145. José Aldo retained his title via first round knockout when he threw a knee that hit Chad Mendes squarely with only one second remaining.

Now coming into their second fight, José Aldo believes that the familiarity from their first meeting will benefit him greatly.

"We already know each other so there's nothing to hide. I just have to get ready for the fight," the fighter told MMAFighting.com about the Jose Aldo's UFC 176 match. "Every fight is a new fight. We will study his fights and see all the details, things that he may have evolved or not. We will study his game and get there to defend the title."

"Junior" has been holding the top spot of the 145-pound division since 2009. He was the last official featherweight champion of World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC).

Since the WEC's merger with the UFC in 2011, José Aldo has been successful so far, winning all of his six title defenses.

Chad Mendes on the other hand, has been on a tear as of late, winning all five of his fights since his knockout loss against José Aldo, four of which by stoppage. These were against the featherweight division's toughest oppositions, including Clay Guida, Cody McKenzie, and Darren Elkins, just to name a few.

Rightfully so, this impressive streak has earned him the champion's respect. But for "Junior," a knockout victory is the only thing that would suffice for the upcoming Jose Aldo UFC 176 match.

"We will work hard (for the knockout)," Aldo promised. "I respect every opponent, but I will train hard to get that."
