Star Wars Battlefront Release Date: Electronic Arts has confirmed - during its recent earnings conference call - that Star Wars: Battlefront will be present at this year's E3 event. Star Wars: Battlefront is powered by Frostbite and is being developed by DICE.
The company announced that though the past books, video games, and other vehicles in which Star Wars stories were told are not definitively counted as part of the universe, it has formed a story group to oversee and coordinate all Star Wars creative development.
"We have an unprecedented slate of new Star Wars entertainment on the horizon," said company president Kathleen Kennedy in a statement.
"We're set to bring Star Wars back to the big screen, and continue the adventure through games, books, comics, and new formats that are just emerging. This future of interconnected storytelling will allow fans to explore this galaxy in deeper ways than ever before."
When asked about the progress on this new Battlefront game and whether we hear more about it at this year's E3, EA had this to say:
"Battlefront coming along very well, Frostbite 3 has meant team can iterate and drive innovation with high quality. Plan to show more of it at E3 this year, but lots of work to go"
The release date for the film has been pushed back to December 18, 2015, meaning the video game might come out around then.
