'Orange Is the New Black' Season 2 is coming soon and Pablo Schreiber recently talked to Hypable about his character George "Pornstache" Mendez. Meanwhile, his cast member Laura Prepon talked to the Daily Beast about her character, Alex Vause with some season 2 spoilers.
"I think he's just a very scared guy. He's afraid of not being cool, of not being sexy, he's afraid of not being all the thing he tries so hard to be. I think that's quite redeemable. He's just a scared man behaving the best he knows how," Schrieber said about Pornstache.
"I think there's an added element of redeem-ability with how we saw him behave at the end of season one, which is just head over heals in love. He fell for Daya in a big way and a lot of the bluster we saw at the early season melted and faded away. It was apparent all he really wanted was connection, and all he wanted were people to get to know him.
He added, "I think there's a possibility for redemption in the eyes of one very important woman, for him, but we'll just have to wait and see in season 2 if that moment of redemption could happen."
Laura Prepon talked to the Daily Beast about Piper (Taylor Schilling) and her character Alex Vause's toxic relationship and hinted at some upcoming drama between the two in season 2.
"She'd just gotten her heart ripped out," Prepon said about Alex.
"We've always talked about how my character is like the spider and Piper is the fly, and what's cool about the show is that you think Piper is this delicate flower but, as the season progresses, you realize how manipulative, messed up, and codependent she is, and you realize that Alex is a straight-shooter and pretty honest and confrontational about things.
"But at the end of Season 1, Piper is totally messing with Alex again and leaves her again for Larry, and Alex is thinking, 'You know what? I can't handle your emotional rollercoaster anymore. It's bullshit.' She knows Piper better than Larry does and sees through all her machinations, so by the end of Season 1, she's over it. With Season 2, when you have two people that love each other like they do, and it's so tumultuous, it will always be this awful back-and-forth. Everyone knows a couple like that in their life where they think, 'They shouldn't be together...this is toxic.'"
"Orange Is The New Black" Season 2 premieres on June 6.
