The Harry Potter movie franchise may have ended, but a new chapter in the wizarding world has opened as the Harry Potter spin off; "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" release date has been announced! Will Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson make a comeback in the new trilogy?
Warner Bros. has announced that the release date of "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" is set on November 18, 2016. Although Warner Bros. hasn't confirmed the cast and director of the Harry Potter Spin off, J. K. Rowling, the creator of the Harry Potter book series will be the producer and screenwriter of the movie.
The Fantastic Beast movie is inspired by a Hogwarts textbook of the same name and is written by the fictional author Newt Scamander from the original series. The movie will be a new trilogy and is set 70 years before Potter was even born.
"Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world," Rowling said in a statement September, when news of the news of the film first broke.
"The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry's gets underway."
Meanwhile, the stars of the Harry Potter film series, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson have been rumored to return to the Harry Potter spin off. Radciffe once opened up on a possible return to the film franchise according to reports from the Inquisitor.
"I would obviously never close the door on something like that entirely, because it would be foolish to. I don't know under what circumstances I could be convinced that it would be a good idea to do it again."
There are no words as of yet if Rupert Grint and Emma Watson would join the Harry Potter spin off, but rest assured that Harry Potter fans will be happy and excited to see their favorite wizard trio together again on the big screen.
