Jessica Simpson's wedding date for 2014 is finally set! Jessica Simpson will wed her former NFL athlete fiance Johnson 'over the July 4th weekend in Santa Barbara,' according to Us Weekly. It won't be a white wedding for the Weight Watchers spokeswoman, who is said to be wearing a 'unique' gown created in color.
Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson have been engaged for almost four years now. Simpson and Johnson changed their mind about having a destination wedding in Capri, Italy since it was 'too much' to ask their friends and family.
"We've had two different wedding dates, but he keeps knocking me up!", said the Weight Watchers spokesmodel jokingly on The Tonight Show.
Simpson and the former NFL tight end are parents to two-year-old daughter Maxwell and son Ace, who will celebrate his first birthday in June.
"We are very close to sending out our invites," Simpson recently told USA Today. "I've been very picky on how I want everything to look and feel. Eric's family alone is almost 90 people, so it'll definitely be a big event."
Simpson previously told People: "Knowing that I have the wedding coming up is an incentive to stay on Weight Watchers, count my points and stay in the gym. I mean, when you see my dress, you'll know."
An insider told Us Weekly: "It will be very different from the Vera Wang she wore to wed Nick Lachey."
Simpson was only 22 years old when she wed the 98 Degrees boy band frontman Nick Lachey in Austin. Their 2003 MTV reality series "Newlyweds" launched her into the spotlight. The couple was divorced in 2006.
Lachey has since wed presenter Vanessa Minnillo; the couple have a 20-month-old son Camden together.
Johnson was also previously married. He divorced dancer Keri D'Angelo in 2010 after five years of marriage. As of September, D'Angelo is an instructor at S Factor Pole Dancing and dates hockey player Charlie Kronschnabel.
