Henry Cavill News 2014: Several real life heroes are inducted into the Superman Hall of Heroes in a ceremony at New York's Times Square. Those honored in this first round include actor, director and activist Christopher Reeve, basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal and baseball player and Civil Rights Activist Jackie Robinson.

According to Henry Cavill's official site, more heroes will be inducted in years to come, including hopefully the present Man of Steel. He's shown all the qualities that DC says makes a great Superman: strong, honourable, compassionate, heroic, brave, indestructible and iconic.

"For more than 75 years, Superman has inspired us to achieve heroic feats, act with moral integrity, and embrace our individuality. Today, WBCP and DC Entertainment are honored to launch the Superman Hall of Heroes, which pays tribute to everyday heroes who embody the attributes we admire in the Man of Steel ... and celebrate those individuals - coaches, mentors, teachers, parents, friends and more - who have made a positive impact on their lives or on the lives of others," Warner Bros. Consumer Products president Brad Globe said in the official announcement.

Cavill needs to project a strong superhero character for Man of Steel and now Batman vs. Superman. In real life, a fan who met him described his pleasant encounter with the "superhero" in Lax.

"Essentially, our conversation didn't feel like one between a celebrity and a fan. It just felt like a discussion between two young men who have intense respect, passion, and love for acting. He enjoyed my sense of humor and respected my views. In addition to all of this, I noticed that his attention was nowhere else. He was making eye contact the whole time and not once was he distracted. Just goes to show that he's a good listener," the fan said.

"I am indeed a fan of Henry Cavill, but now I am an even bigger fan of Henry: a man who is respectable in the sense of being a person, not just an actor. Definitely a night to remember and I really hope I get to meet that guy again someday," he added.

"Batman vs. Superman" movie is scheduled for a May 6, 2016 release.
