Ben Affleck Batman Costume: Director Zack Snyder posts pic of Ben Affleck as Batman from "Man of Steel" sequel. The Academy Award winner bulked up for flick tentatively called "Batman vs. Superman" and looks like he was torn out of panel from Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns," New York Daily News reported.

According to Huffington Post, Ben Affleck is the saddest Batman ever. The Affleck's character photo had been met with diversified reviews with comic book nerds apparently up in arms over his stint as "Daredevil" and critics who viewed the role a comedown from his Academy Award win for "Argo."

"While the photo quality alone was disappointing -- revealing very little about the upcoming "Man Of Steel" sequel -- fans took the gloom-and-doom Caped Crusader and did what the Internet does best: They made a meme out of it," Huffington Post reported.

Snyder gave a hint to his Twitter followers that a big reveal was coming on Tuesday after posting a tease of the Batmobile under a tarp a day earlier on Twitter, NY Daily News stated. The film's new take on the hero's iconic Batmobile was complete with a heavy armored look that seems influenced by director Chris Nolan's Tumbler version.

"The Batmobile is somewhat obscured by Affleck but the black and white image gives fans a chance to debate how the new suit compares to past costumes. The Batsuit has always been a divisive feature of every Batman pic - especially since George Clooney's costume in "Batman and Robin," which came complete with the now-infamous "Batnipples," gave fans an advanced warning that the Joel Schumacher production might be troubled," Variety described.

Batman Vs. Superman opens in U.S. theaters May 6, 2016. Affleck and Cavill will be joined by Israeli actress Gal Gadot, of "Fast & Furious 6" fame, who is set to play Wonder Woman. The cast includes Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane, and newcomer Jesse Eisenberg as the nefarious Lex Luthor.
