Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Mike Alvarado fight results are in, with "El Dinamita" winning a unanimous decision verdict in dominant fashion. With his victory, he's now in the running to fight Manny Pacquiao in the WBO welterweight title.

In the Marquez vs. Alvarado fight, the scorecards showed Juan Manuel Marquez led via wide margins. The final tally had it 117-109 by two judges and 119-108 by one, all in favor of "El Dinamita," who put on a boxing clinic despite "Mile High's" short string of attacks and runs in the second half of the fight.

Juan Manuel Marquez, who now improves to a record of 57-7-1 (with 41 knockouts), fought a tactical fight that fans are accustomed to seeing but he did show more aggression than usual.

He took advantage of Mike Alvarado's tentativeness inside the ring, as he was able to land more power shots and inflict more damage.

His efforts paid off during the Marquez vs. Alvarado fight when he landed the perfect right hand that sent "Mile High" across the other end of the canvass.

But not to be outdone, Mike Alvarado began to employ his kind of style described by multi-titled boxer and now HBO analyst Roy Jones Jr. as a "heart to heart, man to man dogfight".

"Mile High" stood closer to "El Dinamita," fought from closer range and traded hard shots. Mike Alvarado's gallant stand rewarded him with a knockdown of his own in the 9th round.

Unfortunately for "Mile High," he was not able to carry on the same demeanor as "El Dinamita" continued to dominate the fight until the 12th round bell. CompuBox stats showed Juan Manuel Marquez connecting 44% of his total shots and 57% of his power punches.

Prior to the Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Mike Alvarado fight, Top Rank chief promoter Bob Arum stipulated that whoever wins will be the mandatory challenger for Manny Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title.

But when asked about the said possibility, Juan Manuel Marquez remains unsure.

"This was a great fight," Marquez told HBO's Max Kellerman during the post-fight interview. "We'll relax. I don't know at the moment (about fighting Pacquiao again). Any decision I make will be the best for me, my family, and the fans."
