Hey, girl, Ryan Gosling wrote and directed a movie and the trailer is out!
‘The Notebook’ actor’s film ‘Lost River’ has released a trailer.
"Lost River” is the story of "a single mother [Christina Hendricks] who is swept into a dark underworld, while her teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town." The first clip, which can be seen below, shows a young boy walking out with a duffel bag. A burning bike rolls by.
Matt Smith’s character is in a scene he yells “Look at my muscles” a bunch of times in a row. And then there is a shot of a burning house.
It’s hard to understand what “Lost River” is about yet, but hopefully more will be revealed in another trailer soon!
“Lost River” also Christina Hendricks, Matt Smith, Saoirse Ronan, and Eva Mendes.
Ryan Gosling took a break from acting to direct and write “Lost River.” Last year, Gosling told AP Entertainment's Jake Coyle about acting, "I've been doing it too much. I've lost perspective on what I'm doing. I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that. I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does."
Gosling added, "The more opportunities I'm given, the more I learn about how easy it is to (expletive) it up. You fight for freedom and then you get it, and then you have enough rope to hang yourself. It's like trying to exercise some restraint because I do have so much freedom."
"Lost River" is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this week.
