Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin: Gwyneth Paltrow and her estranged husband Chris Martin leave the Chateau Marmont after a dinner together in West Hollywood on Saturday according to NY Daily News.
Martin and Paltrow announced their split in March but are still happily living together in their recently acquired $14 million Malibu beach house, Daily Mail reported. Speculations about the cause of the "conscious uncoupling" have been widespread and the Coldplay frontman recently hinted that it came about because of his own "issues".
Report says that the pair, who left the infamous Hollywood hotel in the same car, turned shy when spotted by photographers. Paltrow wore a white cape and pulled her blonde hair back in a casual ponytail while Chris was casual in a gray sweater and white T-shirt.
In the interview with BBC Radio 1 Martin says that he is responsible for the marriage split. The singer said, "About two years ago I was a mess, really, because I can't enjoy the things that we are good at and I can't enjoy the great things around me because I'm burdened by this. I've got to not blame anyone else and make some changes."
According to New York Daily News, Martin said his personal issues Paltrow and him to grow away from each other.
"I wouldn't use the word breakdown - this was more a realization about trying to grow up, basically. If you can't open yourself up, you can't appreciate the wonder inside. So you can be with someone very wonderful, but because of your own issues you cannot let that be celebrated in the right way," he said.
The singer said that his band's new album, "Ghost Stories," allowed him to be honest and get to the root of his problems, New York Daily News reported.
"What changed for me was that I don't want to go through life being scared of it, being scared of love, being scared of rejection, being scared of failure. If you don't let love in then you can't really give it back," the singer said.
"I think in life everyone needs to be broken in some way. I think everyone in their life goes through challenges, whether it's love or money, kids or illness. You have to really not run away from that stuff. Life throws these colorful challenges at you ... what we decided to do on 'Ghost Stories' was to really be honest about it and say, this is what's been happening," Martin said.
Paltrow, 41, and Martin married in December 2003, and have two children - Apple, 9, and Moses, 8.
