Chris Pratt's workout for 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' was intense. 'Parks And Recreations' actor drank no beer for six months and worked out hardcore to get fit for the film.
Pratt stars as Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy," which is due in theaters Aug. 1.
"You know, drinking and eating whatever I wanted and partying and having fun," Pratt said about his career before he got fit to the LA Times. "I thought this isn't a bad niche. ... If I can get consistent work as this bumbling kind of fat guy who says funny things and falls down on rollerblades and gets really sweaty, why not?"
After his "Zero Dark Thirty" experience, Pratt thought he could change his career. He changed his diet, quit drinking and would work out for hours in his home gym.
Next up, Pratt will star in his next action film, "Jurassic World."
If a report from JoBlo is to be believed, then the plot of the upcoming Jurassic World is going to be amazing. The report reads:
"Business is good at the park, but the powers that be start to dream up new ways to keep customers coming back; namely by splicing Dino DNA with other dinos (and other species). That becomes the problem. They splice together a T-Rex, raptor, snake, and cuttlefish to create a monstrous new dino that, of course, gets loose and terrorizes the park.
There will be lots of Dino on Dino fighting, as some of the Dinos are "good guys" that are trained by Chris Pratt's character. The raptors and T-Rex are among the "trained" good dinosaurs. The big bad dinosaur has instant camouflage abilities, like the cuttlefish, so he blends into the background, is smart like the velociraptor, uses his jaw like a snake, and can terrorize like the T-Rex."
The "Jurassic World" movie is directed by Colin Trevorrow and is currently shooting in Hawaii. Pratt's co-stars include Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy, and Jake Johnson.
"Jurassic World" is scheduled to open on June 12, 2015.
